Well, Christmas has come and gone thank goodness.

Now we begin to really work with the horses, however the weather is awful at the moment, very high winds and driving rain, temperature is not too bad apart from the cold wind it is quite mild.

Can't believe it is nearly a year snce dear William died, I saw this yesterday and liked it:

George came to live with us on the 15th March 2011

As many will know our beloved horse William died in January, so George has come to stay with us on permanent loan from our friend Theresa.

George arrived on Tuesday after a long journey to West Wales from East Sussex, he stayed the night at our friend Andrea's farm as it was dark when he arrived and I rode him to his field the next morning where he met up with Dolly Daydream our other horse. They are both happy with each other and getting on well.

George decided he was not keen on the stand of six fir trees in his field, so now there is only one left, fortunately the owners of the field were very understanding!

Our beloved horse William was dead in his field on Monday. He was always the gentleman and gave so much to everyone he met. He was fine on Sunday, being cheeky as he often was,

He started off being sold by a dealer to the Civil Service Riding Club and was stabled at Buckingham Palace, he became allergic to the traffic fumes and was relocated to Surrey and eventually arrived in Devon on a farm on Dartmoor. Our local riding stables purchased him and Toria started riding him there until we bought him and took him to live at our home.

He used to take part in the Christmas Cracker ride on Exmoor and was always dressed for the part, with flashing fairy lights, top hat etc. He loved anything like that. When we moved to Wales he came with us and recently he moved to a beautiful place just below the Preselli Mountains where he was extremely happy. In November we got a companion for him, Dolly and they had really settled in so well together. Dolly is now missing him.

William gave so much pleasure and love to all who have ridden him. The sound of dogs barking anywhere was so exciting to him, he just loved going out hunting when he was in Devon.

Well, Christmas is over for another year. We have been through a really cold spell with snow and heavy frosts, and now it has started to thaw slightly but the weather people are still predicting the snow and cold will return!
I can't ever remember it being as cold as it has been this last month.

Since I last updated my blog we have a new addition to our family. Dolly Daydream has come to join us and keep William company. She is 8 years old and has not had much handling, unfortunately since she came 5 weeks ago we have had snow and ice so I have been unable to ride her, never mind, time is on our side and slow but sure will be our motto! She has a lovely temperament.

Where have the last 5 months gone! I thought it was about time I updated the blog.
Our daughter Toria has had her Graduation at St David's Cathedral, St David's, Wales on 3rd July. This is the smallest city in the British Isles and so lovely.
This is a picture of her I took on the day. We are so proud of her.
